MARRIAGE COUNSELING 

Communication can be hard sometimes, and once it has has deteriorated, it can be difficult to get it going back in the right direction.  Negative communication can  leave one partner feeling depressed, insecure, disregarded, or wanting to withdraw conversations. It is important to remember that it’s not always what you say, but how you say it. 

If communication is an issue for you as a couple, our counseling sessions will give you the tools and perspective shifts to give you new insight into how you communicate and how you react to your partner in different situations. We will help you initiate change, so communication is something you enjoy and are positive about.

Recovering from an affair is not impossible, but it takes a lot of work. It takes commitment and a willingness to forgive and move forward. There is no magic formula, but if both you and your spouse are committed to the therapy process and are being honest, the marriage can recover and be better than ever. 

When a couple begins to experience discord and they are aware of the discord, knowing is only half the battle. Many times we hear couples say, “We know what’s wrong, but we just don’t know how to fix it.”. This is a perfect time to get help. If you are stuck, we can help you get moving in the right direction and give you exercises and strategies to overcome the things that just seem to keep coming up over and over again and never get resolved.  We will help you resolve the issue(s) once and for all.

If you feel this way, it is important you talk to someone about it. Often couples believe that they are doing the right thing when staying together actually is detrimental to the children. On the contrary, if the couple is able to resolve issue and move toward a positive, healthy relationship, this may be the best decision for all involved.

Children are generally very intuitive and intelligent. No matter how couples may think they are able to fake their happiness, most children are able to tell.

If you are willing to commit to the process, we can help remind you why you fell in love and quite possibly help you find a fresh start and new beginning for your whole family. With that said, all marriages are not salvageable and in the process of marriage counseling, some couples may discover it is healthier for them to be apart. We can help you navigate which is best for you and your family.

Anger is real. Anger effects relationships and families.  If this is an issue for you or your partner, we can help you take a look at your triggers and give you new ways to recognize them and help you implement a plan to resolve your anger issues once and for all.  

We do not to bill insurance companies. Insurance companies require access to your diagnosis, symptoms, and behaviors. They use this information to dictate how many sessions and in some cases what type of therapy can be used. We believe these decisions are best made by the client and counselor together, not by the insurance company. 

Often our clients use their HSA account. We will provide you with a receipt for reimbursement or we can use your HSA Mastercard or Visa.

Each session is about 55 minutes long.

We first assess where you are currently at in your relationship.  After we understand where you are at, we help you create new paths to that great relationship you desire, giving you the tools and knowledge to be successful into the future.

We offer a chance for each of you to talk to someone of the opposite sex for better perspective and insight into your issues.  

Both of us (Mike & Arica) are straightforward and honest. We promise to listen without judgment, to pray for you, and to do our very best to help you and your spouse make your marriage all it can be.

Marriage Counseling is about strengthening the bond between two people.  While couples counseling is most often viewed as something for relationships in trouble, it is effective for many different stages in a relationship. After you and your spouse complete the program, you can decide to continue with further counseling sessions or take what you have learned from the program and try on your own. 

At the completion of RE-ENGAGE you will get a detailed course of action for you as an individual and you as a couple.  We will give you practical and very actionable steps to take to make changes that will transform your life and your marriage.
